KJZZ Adds "Live Wire" To Saturday Evening Line Up


KJZZ has Live Wire!

"Live Wire!" is a weekly variety show with a modern twist. It blends music from up-and-coming artists, original sketch comedy, spoken word, and interviews with writers, filmmakers, comedians and other thought-provoking people. Taped in front of an enthusiastic live audience at the 400-seat Alberta Rose Theatre in Portland's historic Alberta Arts District, hosted by Luke Burbank.

Luke Burbank is a stand-up comic, former NPR host and former producer. In addition to being the lead voice of "Live Wire!," he continues to host his highly successful podcast, "Too Beautiful to Live"

Luke's experience with NPR includes "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!" in 2006 when he was a panelist and fill-in host, and the morning show "The Bryant Park Project" in 2007 which he hosted. Through various other media projects, Luke has also appeared on "This American Life," "All Things Considered," and "Morning Edition."

Group 91Five To Host Discussion Of Political Participation and Civic Engagement





Cutting Through the Rhetoric is the next topic in Group 91Five's What I Wish I Knew… discussion series. Moderated by KJZZ Host Mark Brodie, the conversation will focus on political activism, civic engagement and the nature of public discourse during a presidential election year.

2015 KJZZ Travel And Discovery Expo Scheduled


The 2015 KJZZ Travel and Discovery Expo takes place November 14 and 15 in partnership with the Elegant Home Food and Wine Expo at Westworld of Scottsdale. The annual event features both well-known and off-the-beaten-path Arizona attractions as well as educational presentations that add context and depth to local, national and global travel experiences. 

This year’s event focuses on local and regional destinations with exhibitors in a variety of categories including Arizona history and attractions, native american heritage, adventure tourism and southwestern travel. Those who prefer international and luxury travel will enjoy discounts and deals on European vacations, island getaways and a range of cruise options.
