AFW, Group 91.Five Host Women In Media Panel Discussion

Group 91.Five, KJZZ's young professionals, and the Arizona Foundation For Women Young Professionals Group are hosting Women In Media August 11, 5:30- 7 p.m. at the Rio Salado College Conference Center. The networking event will feature a moderated panel discussion covering topics of interest to women pursuing a career in media. Panelists include:

Retha Hill - Former BET Vice President of content,  former executive producer for special projects at washingtonpost.com, currently serving as executive director of the New Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.

Paola Boivin, Arizona Republic sports columnist also published in New York Times, USA today and on 12 News Phoenix.  

Mary Jo Pitzl - Arizona Republic government reporter covering Arizona Legislature, state policy and politics.  

Sarah Ventre
Amanda June - Owner, SmokeFire media and editor of The Visionary Business Magazine, a national publication dedicated to cross-cultural business relations and economic development. 

Sarah Ventre will moderate.  Ventre is senior producer for KJZZ's Original Productions, including The Show and Here and Now. Prior to coming to KJZZ, Ventre worked as a producer and editor at NPR. As a reporter, Ventre has been featured on NPR, WAMU and in the Washington City Paper, Phoenix New Times, SF Weekly and xoJane.
