Dr. James Paluzzi, Vice President, Division of Public Service Rio Salado College, will instruct “Public Speaking For International Audiences,” a one-credit communications course, to a small class of Phoenix-area students at Instituto Hemingway in Bilbao, Spain, September 13 - 25, 2015. The study-abroad class will teach native English speakers to deliver speeches and presentations to audiences for whom English is a second language.

Hosting the class at an international language institution in Spain provides students with an opportunity to remove themselves from their culturally familiar environment and present to a diverse audience with a variety of backgrounds and native languages.

Class topics will include global perspectives, ethnocentrism, cultural considerations when choosing supporting stories, facts and testimony, linear and holistic patterns of speech, effective nonverbal expression and the construction of visual aids.

The application deadline for the course is Monday, June 22, 2015. Fees should be paid in full by July, 16, 2015.  Visit http://kjzz.org/study-abroad-spain-bilbao to learn more.
