Help Local Students Reach Their Greatest Potential

Donations to SPOT 127 LLC provide instruction and job training to local youth in Maryvale and throughout the Valley. SPOT 127 benefits all Arizonans by empowering high school students in underserved communities to overcome obstacles and reach their greatest potential.

The State of Arizona offers a tax credit for programs like SPOT 127 designed to assist the working poor in Arizona's communities. Unlike deductions and exemptions, tax credits are a dollar for dollar reduction of the amount of tax owed.

KJZZ Expands Local Business and Science Reporting

KJZZ listeners may have noticed two new voices on the air. Through a series of grant funded initiatives, KJZZ recently expanded its roster to include Science and Innovation Reporter Andrew Bernier and Senior Business Correspondent Kristena Hansen.

A $45,00 Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust grant will fund KJZZ coverage of significant community issues like healthy aging, arts and culture, and early childhood programs in Maricopa County.

Close to $1,000,000 has been made available through support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and grants from Arizona Community Foundation, St. Luke's Health Initiatives and the Arizona Commerce Authority to establish specialized science and innovation reporting at all four Arizona public radio stations.

Sponsorship grants to Friends of Public Radio Arizona from American Traffic Solutions and Alliance Bank of Arizona also played a crucial role in funding business, science and innovation reporting at KJZZ.

Specialized coverage will include targeted story segments airing on KJZZ's Original Productions including The Show with Hosts Mark Brodie and Steve Goldstein on Thursdays and Fridays at 2 p.m.and KJZZ's Here and Now with Steve Goldstein Wednesdays at 11 a.m.
